Tantalum and niobium oxides
Tantalum oxides are used as a base ingredient for lithium tantalate substrates required for the surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters used in: • mobile phones,
• as a precursor for the carbide
• as an additive to increase the refractive index of optical glass,
• as a catalyst, etc.,
while niobium oxide is used in electroceramics, as a catalyst, and as an additive to glass, etc.
