Description
Metal tellurium or amorphous tellurium is available. Metal tellurium is obtained from amorphous tellurium through heating up. It occurs as silver white hexagonal crystal system with metal luster and its structure is similar to that of selenium. Same as metal selenium, it’s fragile with semi-conductor properties and shows extremely weak electric conductibility (equal to about 1/100,000 of the electric conductibility of silver) under 50℃. The color of its gas is gold yellow. When it burns in the air it shows bluish white flames and generates tellurium dioxide. It doesn’t directly react with oxygen but reacts drastically with halogen element. Its oxide has two kinds of properties and its chemical reaction is similar to that of selenium. It’s toxic.
